Buzzards Bay is a bay of the Atlantic Ocean that is adjacent to the State of Massachusetts. It is approximately 28 miles long and 8 miles wide. The name was given to this bay by colonists who saw a large bird near their shore  that they called a buzzard. The bird was actually an osprey.
